This impressive monument - also known as the Marktbrunnen - with a bronze statue of Margrave Otto the Rich (1125-1190) stands in the middle of the Obermarkt and is often used as a place to linger and meet. Four heraldic lions spouting water adorn the monument. It was erected in 1897. Furthermore, it is an old custom for local students to take a bath in the fountain after passing their exams.
