The church was built between 1792 and 1793 by Hendrik van Grispen and Petrus Rutten. At that time, it was still a single-nave church. In 1912, the old choir was replaced by a transept and a new choir designed by J.M. Stals. Stained glass windows by Jean den Rooijen also date from this period. Stals also raised the tower in 1926. In 1954 and 1955, the aisles were added by P. Weegels. The church was restored in 1989 and 1990.
