The Sky of Hope WWII and Aviation Museum gives a face to the airmen who crashed in the Rivierenland region. The museum displays personal belongings of the downed airmen, civilian victims, resistance fighters, and Jews. The museum's goal is to permanently visualize the Air and Second World Wars as they unfolded above the Rivierenland region. This is done by honoring Allied airmen and civilians who gave their lives or were captured. It also documents this history and makes it permanently available. A permanent exhibition has been set up at Fort bij Asperen, featuring films, photos, documents, and aircraft parts, and telling the stories of the pilots, resistance fighters, and ordinary people. The museum is located on the first floor of the fort tower of Fort bij Asperen. It is open from May to September, Wednesdays through Sundays, from 1:00 PM to 5:00 PM (the fort tower is also open to visitors).

Nice place to rest for a while, but it is very quiet driving on that part, because of residents.

With the arrival of the New Dutch Waterline in 1815, the function of the lock was taken over by the locks at Fort bij Asperen. Glassworks The former steam pumping station was built in 1857 and was put into use as a traditional glassworks by Willem Heesen from 1977. Since 1982, his son, Bernard Heesen, has been working daily at Glassworks De Oude Horn. Source and more information: www.bezoeklekenlinge.nl
