One of the two old mills in Stellichte. A lovely ensemble with the church.

The Stellichte estate has belonged to the von Behr family since 1479. Dietrich von Behr the Younger (1575–1632), Privy Councillor of the Lüneburg Duke Christian the Elder and Grand Bailiff of Celle, had the estate chapel built on the existing chapel in 1608–1610 as a burial place for his wife Elise Magdalene, née von Bothmer, who died young in 1607. The Celle castle chapel, built at the end of the 15th century, served as his model. Carl Wolff wrote in 1902: “In 1574, Dietrich Behr stipulated in his will that the church he had built in Stellichte should be maintained “in structural terms” by his sons and descendants. He also added a further 1000 thalers to the 1000 thalers already given by his brother Heinrich to the glory of God, which were to be invested at interest. A learned man who could be a pastor in Stellichte should be paid and supported from the interest, which should amount to at least 100 thalers. He should preach in the chapel three times a week and do what a pastor deserves. In 1610, Dietrich Behr had the small chapel demolished and a larger one built in its place, as shown by two inscriptions hanging to the right and left of the organ."[1] The chapel was elevated to a parish church in 1702. In 1901, the church was extensively renovated. It has belonged to the Evangelical Lutheran Church of Hanover since 1975. https://de.wikipedia.org/wiki/St.-Georg-Christophorus-Jodokus-Kirche

The Evangelical Lutheran St. George Christopher Jodokus Church (formerly: von Behr’sche Gutskapelle) in the Walsrode district of Stellichte (Lüneburg Heath) is a Renaissance church with a completely preserved, rich and uniform interior. Along with the Celle Castle Chapel, it is considered one of the most valuable and best-preserved Renaissance churches in northern Germany. https://de.wikipedia.org/wiki/St.-Georg-Christophorus-Jodokus-Kirche

The church in Stellichte was built from brick between 1608 and 1610 by Dietrich von Behr as a burial place for his first wife, who had died young. This former von Behr estate chapel is called St. Georg-Christophorus-Jodokus Church and is considered one of the few surviving Renaissance churches in northern Germany.

The many small different ponds offer a beautiful picture. There is always something to see and many different birds settle here. Due to the numerous benches, you like to sit and let the landscape work on you and enjoy the peace and quiet.
