Around the Hagelberg there were great battles, where the Wars of Liberation against Napoleon raged. His army was greatly weakened here, so much so that it was a prerequisite for the victory over Napoleon at the Battle of Nations at Leipzig.

The three-story brick school is part of the historic city center of Bad Belzig. The building, constructed of red brick, was built in 1869 according to plans by the Belzig master bricklayer Dalichow as a new school. Girls and boys were taught here in separate classes. The girls' classes were on the street side and the boys' classes were on the other side of the schoolyard.

Nice event, well organized and signposted. Weather was OK but unfortunately very windy, always felt like there was a headwind 😬

The church was originally intended to be built from fieldstone. However, bricks were ultimately used for the construction. The interior of the late Romanesque church has a flat roof, an apse and a half-dome. To the west of the building there is a memorial to those who fell in both world wars.
