The former sewage fields are now a landscape perfect for hiking. In 2021, the Spandau district purchased the sewage fields. This was intended to ensure that the area's character is preserved in the long term. Since 2022, funding has also been available to renaturalize the sewage fields and promote biodiversity.

The farm is owned by the German Landscape Foundation. H.J. Ernst, chairman of the Spandau Landscape Conservation Association, whose family has managed the farm for three generations, donated the farm to the foundation. A plaque commemorates the family. https://heimat-deutsche-landschaften.de/die-stiftung-ist-eigentuemerin-eines-hofes-in-berlin-gatow-geworden/
