The village church in Vipperow is an impressive building dating from around 1300 and is one of the oldest churches in the Müritz region. Originally designed as a fortified church, it was built from fieldstone and complemented in the east by an artistically designed brick gable. A sacristy and a vestibule were added in the 15th century, while the wooden half-timbered tower in the west dates from the 18th century. Inside the church is a richly decorated carved altar dating from around 1500, depicting a crescent-moon Madonna and numerous figures of saints. The medieval wall paintings are particularly fascinating, including a fragment depicting the Last Judgment, which was uncovered during restoration work. These paintings have been carefully restored in recent years and contribute significantly to the special atmosphere of the room. The church's organ was built in the mid-19th century and has recently been completely overhauled. Today, the church is not only a place of worship, but also a cultural venue for concerts and events. For cyclists and those interested in culture, a visit to the Vipperow church is a worthwhile stopover – quietly located, steeped in history, and full of art-historical details.
