If the breakwater protecting the mouth of the Vistula River is wet, for example after rain, you should exercise extreme caution. Walking barefoot, I've personally experienced how easy it is to slip on the concrete floor, and if you're walking close to the Vistula Riverbed, you can slide down the slope into deep water. In such cases, the help of others is invaluable.

The coastline around Mikoszewo changes from year to year. Following the extension of the eastern breakwater protecting the mouth of the Vistula River, a sandbar has grown, separating the beach at Mikoszewo from the sea. Numerous waterbirds flock there, easily visible through binoculars. From the Mikoszewo side, the beach is also expanding. New areas of land can be identified by the coarse sand that sinks your feet into. A small peninsula has formed towards the sea. WW

I definitely do not recommend a bike trip; it is worth taking binoculars to see the habitats of waterfowl in the inaccessible part of the Reserve.

A resting place with benches and a shelter and a view of the Vistula. Right next to it, a ferry to Sobieszewska Island departs.

A good place to start a walk around the Mewia Łacha Reserve - especially since there is an interesting information board about this area. Education is very important!

From this path on the shore here you can see perfectly how the Vistula flows into the Baltic Sea. An interesting and unusual view. In addition, you will definitely hear the "chatter" of birds, which are abundant in the Mewia Łacha Reserve (on both sides of the river mouth).
