Speyerer Kapelle north of Herxheim; on the Speyerer Weg, an old trade route to Speyer. Building history/History: Mrs. Anna Maria Steinacher, née Trauth, had the chapel built in 1747 and provided for its structural maintenance by donating a plot of land. Last renovation around 1990, largely through voluntary work. Maintenance so far by the family of Otto Hetzler and his wife, as well as by a support group from the Schönstatt Mothers' group. Furnishings: Depiction of the Descent from the Cross, semi-plastic under glass; Madonna statue, also a Pietà; new stained glass windows by Studienrat Nether/ Böllenborn. The old inscription, uncovered during the renovation on a wooden tablet set into the masonry to the right of the chapel door, was covered with plaster as it was no longer legible.

Through the green of the trees, you can see the columns of wind turbines as if framed, and hear the noise of the wind turbines in the wind from above. There are two or three hunting blinds, built almost picturesquely into the trees like treehouses.
