The historic Haldensleben town hall is a noteworthy, listed, two-story building on the east side of the market square in Haldensleben. With its distinctive neoclassical facade, it shapes the historic center of the city. A building from 1579 previously stood on this site, which is still remembered today by a relief plaque with a coat of arms. The current building was originally erected in the Baroque style between 1701 and 1703. The town hall received its current appearance through a renovation between 1815 and 1823. It has an eleven-bay facade and a three-bay central projection with a gable. In 1910, an extension was added on the east side, whose staircase features noteworthy Art Nouveau glazing. From the year 2000 onwards, historic half-timbered houses located to the north were also integrated into the complex. At the entrance, there is a plaque from 1905, created by the sculptor Rudolf Uffrecht for the 100th anniversary of Friedrich Schiller's death. Directly in front of the town hall on the market square stands the statue of the "Riding Roland". It is the city's landmark and symbolizes the old market and town rights. The stately 17-meter-high transverse tower, built of rubble masonry, is reminiscent of a settlement that was important 800 years ago and became a ghost town as early as the Middle Ages. Further evidence of this is provided by a partially preserved hollow way and the remains of a watermill that burned down in 1843. The Nordhusen ruin is a widely visible sign of the former settlement of Nordhusen. It was first documented in 1218, but fell into disuse by the end of the 15th century as the focus of settlement shifted to Hundisburg. Only the Romanesque-built west transverse tower of the former village church has survived to this day. The ruin is one of the west transverse towers typical of the Magdeburger Börde. Its ground plan dimensions of 11.80 m by 5.20 m and its height of 17 m indicate that Nordhusen was once an important place. The Nordhusen ruin is a stop on the "Straße der Romanik" (Route of the Romanesque). The Protestant Church of St. Marien in Haldensleben was built on the foundations of older church buildings. A church already stood here before the destruction of the town of Haldensleben by troops of the Magdeburg Archbishop Wichmann in 1181. This one was also destroyed in 1181. Together with the reconstruction of the town, the construction of a new church began in 1223. Starting in 1375, the construction of a three-nave church in the Gothic style began. However, during a town fire in 1661, this building was also largely destroyed. The reconstruction was completed in 1675. The church had two towers and otherwise essentially corresponded to its current form. After the collapse of the southern tower, the northern tower was also demolished in 1808. A new tower was erected starting in 1812. In the southern church wall are the gravestones of the well-known Haldensleben mayors Joachim and Sebastian Alstein. A church worth seeing with beautiful stained glass windows, open from 10am to 6pm from May to October.

It is the only equestrian Roland statue in Europe and dates from 1528. The original is in the Haldensleben Museum. Originally, the Roland statue could be rotated on its base to follow the passing ruler with its gaze.

The Flora Bridge crosses the Mittelland Canal and offers magnificent views on both sides.
