The Gurnigel-Bad was once conceived as a luxurious Grand Hotel. In its time, the 2nd half of the 18th century and the 1st half of the 19th century, it was one of the largest and best-known spas in Switzerland. Three sulfur and iron-rich springs fed the spa and promised healing from all sorts of illnesses. Today (as of May 2026), the former flagship of the rich and beautiful is in slumber. However, an investment group has concrete plans to kiss it awake from its sleep. The project is to rise from the ashes like a phoenix under the name Gantrisch Lodge Gurnigel-Bad
