The mountain, which is forested up to the southern edge of the valley, belongs on the south side to the district of Grub and Eichenberg, both small forest villages near Themar in the Hildburghausen district. The Schneeberg is considered the highest point in the Little Thuringian Forest. A hiking trail runs over the forested Schneeberg as a connecting link from the Dolmar to the Rennsteig. built at the end of the 13th century, demolished at the beginning of the 19th century and excavated again in 1960... is freely accessible and not far from the long railway. The short detour is worth it for the Auger alone

Great way on the height between Lengfeld and Tachbach. I always use it, for example, to drive from Suhl to Themar via Schneeberg. A great connection instead of using the main road.
