Peter Turner
May 24, 2025, Carved Tree Face

This tree carving is masterful and the size of an adult. Its remote location imbues an aura of mysticism.

The Garth has a nice flat top with views across the valleys. Lots of sheep grazing too (March). Also a number of mounds provide some cover from the wind if a break is in order

A dead tree has had a carving added to it. At Christmas 2023 the trees here were decorated.

Grangemoor Park is a beautiful public park located in Grangetown, Cardiff. The park is made up of lush green grasslands and trees and hosts a diverse range of flora and fauna including butterflies, birds, slow worms, and insects. The park is also on a hill, so provides some wonderful views over Cardiff and the surrounding area.

Rocky, narrow, but very scenic, descent into the woods with some glorious views across the Taff Vale toward Nantgarw.

Great ascent and probably just as good going down too

The road to the South of Garth Mountain is named the "Route Des Alpes" on Google maps. I'm thinking it isn't genuine, but I like it! The views from the footpath climbing up off the road are fantastic on a clear day.
