Easy parking (ice cream van in summer!) at Sheep Wash, great path through the coniferous wood running along the southern edge of the reservoir, awesome views, cool breeze across the water, option to follow numerous tracks east into the woods around Cote Garth and Golden Square. Lots of familys, dog walkers and hikers - something for everyone here.

A fabulous ride on the quiet road between Hawnby and Moor Gate, with ridiculously good views of both Hawnby Hill and Easterside Hill. Barely any cars on a road such as this, so this is pure joy to ride, and if you would like to make a proper stop on your way around here, Moor Gate has a convenient car park area with a nice tree against which you could rest your weary back.

This is a one-mile descent towards the village of Osmotherley down from Osmotherley Moor. Or up towards it, of course, in which case you've got some work to do! The forested slopes of Big Wood to the south of here look particularly picturesque. It's a really fun and beautiful road to ride!
