An 18th century hotel which sits alongside the picturesque river Wharfe at the Town Foot bridge in the centre of Kettlewell. Its name derives from a corruption of Trace horses used to provide extra power for coaches on steep hills.

This huge, overhanging limestone cliff is an important landmark in Wharfedale. It was shaped by glaciers that once filled the valley and plucked away the sheer rock face thousands of years ago. Today, this beetling crag is a challenge for all the rock climbers drawn to it from far and wide. It also forms an impressive backdrop to the annual Kilnsey Show.
