Both were initially operated by the Itzehoe Monastery, but were leased out over the centuries: first the farm, then also the mill. Purchasers included various Holstein noble families such as: Ruhmor, Krummendieck, Sehestedt, Pogwisch. In 1899, the farm buildings & the mill burned down. All farm buildings except the mill were rebuilt in 1902. The mill pond was used for carp breeding.
