The land here is private, they are insistent you buy a ticket in order to complete this section. At £10 per ticket, this could be an expensive walk. However, if you go back across the bridge towards the exit, you can complete this walk minus the short section in the castle grounds. The views are lovely, you can get down to the waters edge in parts and - if you have furry friends, the path is also covered for the large part. We racked up just over 6 miles on our walk, was very enjoyable despite the 'insistent' signs to purchase a ticket! Would recommend to fellow ramblers!
