No matter which direction you arrive in Krakow am See, the observation tower on Jörnberg welcomes you. The observation platform of the now 28-meter-tall tower is located almost 100 meters above sea level. Visitors who climb the tower's 126 steps are rewarded with a magnificent panoramic view of Krakow's glittering lake labyrinth. After the first wooden observation tower was built on the same site in 1897, a new reinforced concrete structure followed. The Bismarck Tower, erected in 1907, was made of reinforced concrete by a Rostock company. It reached a height of 13.40 meters up to the observation platform. For many years, this tower served as a center of attraction for Krakow's citizens and visitors. It was later demolished as a result of the war. If you don't really want to go to the lake, you should drive up on the main road. Unfortunately, the path above the lake and behind the campsite is very sandy and difficult to navigate.
