The view upstream is particularly charming in the early morning. This spot is an excellent starting point for explorations. Wonderful hikes are possible from here. A walk through the grove is highly recommended. A trip to Altenburg Castle is also easily possible from here.

The location is clearly the Jahn weir and is on the right branch of the Regnitz River, which does NOT run through the old town but flows into the Rhine-Main-Danube Canal. Sorry, there are quite a few errors in the aforementioned descriptions and pictures... (an outsider)
