Michael Schaaf
July 17, 2026, Bushcombe Lane Climb

If you choose Bushcombe Ln over any of the other three ways from Woodmancote up Cleeve Hill you either know what you are doing or you soon find out. Rated 10/10 by the 100 climbs App, this is one of the toughest climbs in the UK. The climb starts easy, but soon hits 20% after about 0.5km, when you reach the farm on the left. By the time you get to the forest it's somewhere between 25 and 30%. Around a left hand bend and up the final 100m stretch near 30% until the paddock on the left, indicates the gradient easing.
