San Servolo is the main church of Buje-Buie and one of the most important late Baroque monuments in Istria. Built on a previous Roman temple, it has monumental dimensions and is used only on the most solemn occasions, for masses on the occasion of the feast of San Servolo or for the organ festival which in itself is the cultural event par excellence. The church as we see it today was built in the second half of the 18th century, on the site of a three-nave Romanesque-Gothic church from the 13th century. Elements of the older building were inserted into the new one, so that they are still visible on the façade today. The interior of the church is breathtaking. The portal is richly decorated and is one of the most beautiful in Istria, while the unfinished façade also bears witness to the conditions during the late Venetian administration, the period in which San Servolo was built. The interior is breathtaking: the place is truly monumental and diaphanous, and the single nave is covered by a barrel vault. In addition to the seven richly decorated altars, the pulpit and the chandelier, the church's rich inventory includes the famous organ built in 1791 by Gaetano Callido.

It's a pretty rough road, but it rolls OK in places. I wouldn't want to ride on gravel on 40s again.

Unfortunately, the path is not always easy to find, especially towards the end of the gorge. There are a few trees lying on the path in the gorge and the signs are missing in some crucial places. In mid-June, the grass in the clearing at the lowest point of the tour is so high that it is difficult to see where to go next. Be sure to use mosquito spray; otherwise you will become a feast! In my opinion, you should not walk the path alone because you can slip very easily and also because you will be glad to have a helping hand in some sections.

The Brič winery is right on the Croatian border. Rebellious as we are, we crossed the border illegally on our first visit to enjoy the wines of this brilliant winery. On 36 hectares, the own, different grapes are nurtured and cared for. Winegrowing is ecological. The organically grown grapes are also handled with the utmost care during the harvest. You can also see the grapes. The wines are mostly aged in wood to give them a strong body. Nevertheless, the peculiarities of the terroir are not neglected. https://rebellion.wine/winzer-bric/
