The tower began to be called "Dorotka" in the mid-19th century, perhaps because it served as a prison for indecent women for a time. However, Kalisz residents believe its name is connected to a legend about a starosta named Dorotka who fell in love with a poor shoemaker and was locked in the tower by her father.

The Dorotka Tower is located behind the collegiate church, from the park side. It is a fragment of the medieval city walls. It is a well-preserved, semicircular, two-storey tower with round gun slots. Built at the end of the 14th century, originally rectangular in shape, it was probably rebuilt in the 16th century to a semicircular shape. This monument is also associated with a certain legend about the beautiful and unruly daughter of the proud and hot-tempered starost of Kalisz Castle - Dorotka and the poor shoemaker Marcinek, whose love ended tragically, namely, the angry father ordered his beloved daughter to be walled up alive in the tower.

The Gothic House located on Kościelna Street in Opatówek is associated with General Józef Zajączek, the governor of the Kingdom of Poland. The house was part of the property that the general received from Napoleon Bonaparte in recognition of his military merits. Unfortunately, it is not known exactly when the building was built. It is estimated, however, that it took place at the beginning of the 19th century. In the interwar period, the building housed a kindergarten of the National Women's Organization, and the building owes its current name to a candy factory that had been operating there since the late 1930s. After the war, the building was inhabited, but in the following years it gradually fell into disrepair. Then the building was taken over by the local government, whose efforts, under the supervision of the conservator, restored the "Cukierenko" by restoring the characteristic pinnacles and large Gothic windows. The non-original annexes were demolished, and the newly added wing with Gothic windows became the seat of the Giller Brothers Communal Public Library.

The historic neo-Gothic gate leads to the park, where the estate of the former owner of the Opatówek estate - Karol Schlosser - was located. It was built around 1915, just after the palace was built, in front of which there was a driveway with a decorative flower bed. At that time, the entire park, in which the owner of the estate was located, was fenced. The gate was built in the neo-Gothic style. In the past, between its massive brick and plastered pillars, there were decorative gates, which when pulled apart, hid in the wide columns of the gate. On the decorative iron beam connecting the columns, the decorative monogram of the owner - "K" "S" (Karol Schlosser) has been preserved to this day. Currently, the gate leads to the park and the Municipal Health Center, which was built in 1986 on the site of the former palace driveway.
