This beautiful mountain shelter, located at an altitude of 1,060 meters above sea level below the summit of Stóg, was founded over 100 years ago and even survived the war without interruption! This is a great place, as it's on the Main Sudeten Trail. There are two refreshments here, and overnight stays are available (although reservations are required!)

A beautiful waterfall and a great hiking trail along the river - in season it's worth getting there early to get a parking space and some peace and quiet. There's an entrance fee for the hiking trail!

Shortly below the summit, a building was built in 1924 on the southern slope in the Silesian-Lusatian style, where the asphalted hiking trail ends. The construction was initiated by the doctor Josef Siebelt, who, seriously ill, visited the then famous Bad Flinsberg (today Świeradow Zdrój) and experienced miraculous healing.

Near Szklarska Poręba in a picturesque gorge surrounded by rocks is the 13 meter high Kochelfall (Wodospad Szklarka). It is the second highest waterfall in the Polish Karkonosze Mountains after Zackelfall. Since 1886 there has been a chalet called Kochanowka.

The waters of the Kamieńczyk fall 27 metres into the depths here. Together with the Wolf Falls in the Kłodzko Snęczyk Mountains (also 27 metres), it is the second highest waterfall in Poland. If you are in the area, you should definitely visit the waterfall.

Shortly before it flows into the Kamienna, the Kochel forms the 13 m high Kochelfall (Wodospad Szklarki). The Kochelfall has been a popular excursion destination for centuries, similar to the Zackelfall, and is one of the most famous sights in the Giant Mountains. Be there early and you'll have peace.

Zackelfall - (pl. Wodospad Kamieńczyka) is the highest waterfall in the Polish Sudetes near Szklarska Poręba. Today is Saturday and half of Poland seems to be on the way there - fortunately only after we have enjoyed the peace and quiet there. With only around 20 protective helmets, a long waiting time is inevitable. To reach the waterfall you have to hike about 3 km in the national park. Incidentally, the river (German: Steinbach) flows into the Kamienna, which flows behind our hotel.
