Good asphalt, gentle hills

In the years 1921-39, the 26th King Władysław IV Light Artillery Regiment of the 26th Infantry Division was stationed in nearby military barracks. The regiment took part in the Battle of Bzura during the defensive war in 1939.

The Rawka River Nature Reserve, located in the Łódź province, covers 97 km of the naturally meandering Rawka River and adjacent areas with a total area of ​​approximately 487 ha. It is one of the few reserves in Poland protecting the entire length of the river from its source to its mouth, along with the lower sections of tributaries and oxbow lakes. For road cyclists, the asphalt routes in the vicinity of Bolimów and Skierniewice are attractive, offering picturesque views of the river valley. It is worth remembering, however, that some sections may lead through roads with a poorer surface, so it is recommended to plan the route in advance. The reserve also offers the opportunity to observe a variety of fauna and flora, which makes it an interesting place for cycling trips combined with admiring nature.

In July 2023, the renovated market square was unveiled, as part of the project, sidewalks and green infrastructure in the Market Square were rebuilt. The surface of the streets adjacent to the Market Square was hardened: Kozia, Żabia, Zastodolna and Senatorska streets. The building of the Municipal and Communal Cultural Center in Bolimów, the seat of the City and Commune Office and the bus stop, which currently serves as a tourist information center, were renovated and adapted.

Kopanicha Nature Reserve is a 42.53 ha forest nature reserve established in 1980, located in the Skierniewice commune in the Łódź province. It is located within the Bolimów Landscape Park, near provincial road no. 705 and the town of Budy Grabskie. The reserve covers a section of the Rawka River valley (with a steep escarpment), which creates a semicircular depression among the areas located above the valley. The reserve also covers a small area above the escarpment. The area in the depression is very wet, in places marshy.

The reservoir on the Skierniewka (Łupia) River is already visible on maps of Skierniewice from the 15th century. Initially, the reservoir was located near the village of Dęba, which was later incorporated into the city of Skierniewice. It was practically untouched by humans until the second half of the 20th century. It was not until the 1970s that its lower section was excavated near Zadębie Street and the Zadębie district. As part of the reservoir's renovation carried out in the years 1996-1999, the current reservoir bowl was shaped.
