How the open-air museum was created: Concrete shelters were originally scattered in various places in Sądecczyzna and buried in the ground. Enthusiasts from the Sądecczyzna Historical and Exploration Association found them, dug them up, and moved them to one location in Barcice. Purpose: These bunkers (mainly of the Ringstand 58c type) were part of the German defense line of the A2 position. They were small combat shelters for 1-3 soldiers. They were equipped with machine guns on rotating rails, which allowed them to fire in any direction.
