The Royal Castle in Nowy Sącz is now a picturesque ruin located in a place of exceptional landscape value – on a slope at the mouth of the Kamienica River into the Dunajec River. Built by Casimir the Great in the 14th century, it was once an important administrative and defensive point, visited by kings, including Jadwiga of Anjou and Władysław Jagiełło.
