Tips from the Community

Bernd 🌲🦌🍄🥾
April 24, 2026, Salome Braun Chapel

The chapel was built in 1856 as a small religious structure in the form of a wayside shrine and served the local population as a place of devotion and prayer. Over the decades, however, the building gradually fell into disrepair, was eventually abandoned and partially destroyed. Many years later, from the early 2000s onwards, the desire arose to restore the structure as a cultural and historical memorial. Through voluntary commitment and donations, the chapel was finally faithfully reconstructed, secured, and rebuilt.

„Lord Jesus, eternal Word of the Father, you have become silence for us. And in the silence that leads us to your tomb, there is still a word we want to say to you, as we remember the Way of the Cross that we walked with you: Thank you! Thank you, Lord Jesus, for the meekness that brings down arrogance. Thank you, for the courage with which you took up the cross. Thank you, for the peace that flows from your wounds. Thank you, for giving us your holy Mother as our Mother too. Thank you, for the love you showed in the face of betrayal. Thank you, for turning tears into smiles. Thank you, for loving everyone, excluding no one. Thank you, for the hope you instill in the hour of trial. Thank you, for the mercy that heals misery. Thank you, for having laid aside everything to make us rich. Thank you, for transforming the cross into a tree of life. Thank you, for the forgiveness you offered your murderers. Thank you, for conquering death. Thank you, Lord Jesus, for the light you have kindled in our nights, for reconciling every separation and thus making us all brothers and sisters, children of the same Father in heaven.“ (Prayer on the Way of the Cross with the Holy Father, Pope Francis, Good Friday 2023 in the Roman Colosseum)

The attractive chapel and the well-maintained grounds are the result of many hardworking hands and are also a listed cultural monument: https://www.kuladig.de/Objektansicht/KLD-318936

This small, quarry-stone chapel stands quietly and majestically at the edge of the forest. Surrounded by tranquility, grass, and a Stations of the Cross, it invites not only believers to pause for a moment. 🕯 Tip: If you like, sit on the bench or walk around the chapel—even without religious connotations, it's a place for a quiet moment in nature.
