It is worth crossing the bridge and descending the high escarpment to the Narew. A wonderful view of the river and the power plant.

The village of Wieliszew is mentioned in 1254 as the property of the monastery in Czerwińsk (and remained so until the end of the 18th century), although traces of a hunters' camp from the 5th century BC have been discovered on Góra Sztachera. In the first half of the 19th century it belonged to Tomasz Kamieński and his wife Maria Gautier. The parish was established by the bishop of Płock, Ścibor of Radzymin, on 20 July 1387 from the property of the Order of Canons Regular from Czerwińsk. In the foundation act, which includes the names of the villages: Wieliszew, Skrzyszew, Koluszyn, Łaziska, Turczyn and Nieporęt, he ordered the construction of a church in Wieliszew on the property of the monastery of Canons Regular from Czerwińsk nad Wisłą. The text of the document has been preserved in the Czerwińsk copybook from the early 16th century. Source: https://www.wieliszew.eu/historia

A very personal memoir written in the first person... It really does provoke moments of reflection... Anna Rogulska was shot by the Gestapo during WWII.

Great place, even to drop in for a breather and eat something. Plus deckchairs and it's great to watch people ride those boards. https://trzciany.wakefamily.pl/
