The best road cycling routes around Miedzna

It was established by the Order of the Minister of Forestry and Timber Industry of December 15, 1980 (Official Gazette of 1980, No. 30, item 171[2]) on an area of 25.27 hectares. According to the land register, it is plot no. 1170 with an area of 24.92 hectares[1]. According to the Order, the conservation objective is to preserve the abundant habitat of the endangered species, the snowdrop (Galanthus nivalis), one of the few in lowland Poland.

In the Węgrów Market Square by the Municipal Public Library, a bench was placed on which Master Jan Twardowski sits holding a magic mirror, there is also an open book in which a text in Polish and English is written translating the Latin inscription on the mirror frame: "Twardowski played with this mirror, performing magic arts, now he is destined to serve God". The bench was made from a cast by the Kruszewski Brothers Bell Foundry in Węgrów. It refers to the legends of the famous Master Twardowski and the Twardowski Mirror, which is located in the Minor Basilica in Węgrów. The mirror was donated to the Węgrów church in the 18th century by the founder of the church, Jan Dobrogost Krasiński.

We will come across Sowia Góra by driving the road from Liwo to Węgrów and turning right just after the bridge over the Liwiec River. The elevation is located about 1.5 km just behind the town of Jarnice. Sowia Góra is a famous hill in the area, quite high, from which there is a beautiful view of the Liwiec Valley, the large and irregular bend of this river, where local residents and tourists relax from spring to summer.

The reserve's name comes from the protected snowdrop plant (Galanthus nivalis) on its territory. The reserve, established in 1980, covers an area of 25.27 ha in the Repki forest district. The entire area is covered with trees aged from 4 to 130 years. It is a mixed, multi-species stand, very diverse in terms of structure and age of species occurring in it, although older stands, over 60 years old, predominate. The method of management of the stands included in it results from the basic conservation goal, which is to preserve the snowdrop site, one of the few sites of this plant in northern Poland. Other protected plants also occur on the reserve. These are: Daphne mezereum, white butterfly-orchid, Martagon lily, common foxglove, common gingerbread, and primrose. The reserve area is inhabited by numerous nesting birds: red-backed shrike, yellowhammer, song thrush, blackbird, tit and woodpecker. In addition, periodic occurrences of hoopoe, hawks and buzzards have been recorded.
