• The name of the village Dywan (as well as the pond itself) has nothing to do with fabric, but derives directly from old sawmill and timber rafting engineering. It comes from the Kashubian word for a special platform made of floated wooden logs (called a 'dywan' or carpet), on which felled tree trunks were laid and sorted before being floated down the Zbrzyca to the Brda river.
