In 1535, as a result of the Reformation, the church was taken over by Protestants. By 1945, 15 pastors worked in Iwięcin. Of these, pastor Mevius held his office for the longest time, 50 years. The old cemetery, surrounded by a stone rampart, had three entrance gates. Each of them belonged to one of three subordinate villages - they were: Iwięcino, Wierciszewo and Bielkowo.
