Under the client's direction, Manfred Predl planned and erected the chapel in 2019-2020 by the Salzburg-based company Pongauer Holzbau - Jägerzaun GmbH. The roof tiles were laid by a German company because no local contractor was available. The ground-floor chapel was constructed using pine log construction, an exposed roof truss, and a slate shingle roof. Strict adherence to structural wood preservation and the use of larch wood for the exposed components made it possible to avoid the use of any chemical wood preservatives both indoors and outdoors. The detailed design was developed, planned, and implemented in collaboration with the client. Access to the chapel is possible at any time; it is unlocked daily in the morning. Not only the chapel itself is worth seeing, but also the beautifully landscaped garden area surrounding it.

The chapel was built in 1887 in the neo-Gothic style. Mathias Kurz decided to build it at that time. However, he was unable to complete it alone, so the chapel was completed with the help of the farmers of Großfeiting. At that time, many decorative elements were omitted. The painter Theodor Depaul came from Wildon. Since 1919, a steel bell by Böhler has stood in the slender bell tower. After a storm in 1936, the roof and facade of the chapel were renovated. In 1992-1993, the entire drainage and interior design took place. In 2022-2023, a new roof structure and the entire tower renovation, a new facade and balcony, and the forecourt design will follow.

a great observation tower on the Kleeberg; from here you have a great view

The observation tower on Kleeberg has over 140 steps, which stands out due to its striking shape and architecture (and somehow doesn't fit into the landscape at all). There is a turnstile in front of the first steps. In my case it was open in winter (despite a thin layer of snow on the steps and platforms). Surface made of tear-plate (wasn't slippery today), on some platforms there are glass walls that provide a bit of protection from the wind. On a clear day you can see from Geschreibenstein in Burgenland to Slovenia and also many Styrian and Carinthian mountains.
