This original water castle was built around the middle of the 13th century by Sudomír from the House of Tvrdišovec. The first mention of the castle dates back to 1261 and it is one of the oldest castles in the Moravian region. In the middle of the 16th century, the castle was rebuilt into a Renaissance chateau. In the first half of the 19th century, the chateau was rebuilt into its current late-classical form according to a design by the Viennese architect Karel Schleps. In April 1945, the chateau was badly damaged by the passing of the war front. In 2003, the town council sold the chateau to a private investor. Currently, the chateau looks very dilapidated. Apparently, it is being converted into a hotel.

The Strážnice Castle, surrounded by a large park, adorns the town of Strážnice. However, it only acquired its current appearance in the neo-Renaissance style with classicist elements in the mid-19th century. There are two permanent tours for the public with a historical library and a newly opened castle chapel with a very valuable altar.

The Church of the Assumption of the Virgin Mary was built in 1747 on the site of a former fraternal school and parish. The church is built in the Italian Baroque style. The main altar was built at the expense of Count František Magnis, who was buried under it. Above the altar is the miraculous image of the Virgin Mary of Strážnice, the rare work of an unknown artist from Milan from 1630. The image was also donated by František Magnis. Above the presbytery is a recently discovered 18th century fresco (Assumption of the Virgin Mary). The oldest work in the church is a Gothic wooden statue of the Virgin Mary of unknown origin.
