Really interesting cave, a short walk up the stairs from the road, apparently also a stone age settlement. If you do visit, keep in mind that falling rocks are a hazard (maybe keep your helmet on). Obviously visit at your own risk. You can inquire about a guided tour if you're unsure about visiting yourself.

In principle, I'm not a fan of "partisan chapels", but this one is actually tastefully decorated. At the same time, it is friendly to travelers - with a toilet and a place where you can rest and eat in peace, if the weather is windy and bad outside.

The local knew how to say that 15 years ago this was the steepest asphalted climb in Slovenia. Maybe he still is - maybe he wasn't even then and the husband was just exaggerating a little. :) But it's really steep.

The Andrejev dom na Slemenu refuge is located in a clearing on the north-eastern side of Sleme (1167 m), in the ridge that connects Uršlja Gora with Smrekovac. The refuge was built between 1951 and 1952 on the initiative of Planinsko Društvo (PD) Šoštanj, thanks to the voluntary work of mountain lovers, but above all of the employees of the then Tovarne usnja Šoštanj, a famous tannery that made the history of the local industry in the mid-20th century. Officially inaugurated on 21 September 1952, it takes its name from Andrej Stegnar (1906-1981), initiator of its construction, then president of the Šoštanj PD as well as director of the tannery. In 1960 the construction of the annex began, which was inaugurated on 16 July 1961. Until 1975 the refuge was managed by the local Alpine club, then taken over by Tovarna usnja herself who renovated and modernized it. Today it offers catering service in two restaurant rooms and a large terrace. There are 31 beds in 15 private rooms and another 52 beds in three dormitories.
