The entire canal is an industrial monument although the condition of the road is sometimes appalling

Be careful here you cross the busy road! Rest area is therefore not a highlight, but there is a water fountain. The bike parking facility is currently closed!!!

The EuroVelo 9 runs in the east of Austria through Lower Austria, Vienna and Styria. Along the route you can discover vineyards, castles and thermal baths. The Helenental cycle path starts in Baden and takes you through the beautiful spa town of Baden and further along the Schwechat through the romantic Helenental. Almost the entire cycle path leads through the forest and provides cooling, especially in summer. The Helenental cycle path is a very beautiful, family-friendly excursion cycle route without any significant elevation gain. It is a connection to the thermal cycle path (EuroVelo 9), which leads south from Baden through the vineyards of the thermal region. The Weingarten cycle path is another way to explore the wine region near Baden. It leads through the vineyards of Gumpoldskirchen, Pfaffstätten and Sooß and offers beautiful views of the vineyards.

08/17/2023 - Beautifully shady due to the trees growing together on the Tattendorfer side, on the Oberwaltersdorfer side the trees were cut down a little last year. Unfortunately, the bike path is a little too narrow. Yesterday two trees felled by the storm - the building yard was there immediately and sawed them up!!!
