The Lohr–Wertheim railway, also known as the East Spessart Railway, is a branch line in Bavaria and Baden-Württemberg. It ran largely along the Main River from Lohr station on the Würzburg–Aschaffenburg railway to Wertheim, where it connected to the railway lines to Miltenberg and Lauda. The 37.1 km long line was opened on October 1, 1881, and was closed and dismantled in the 1980s and 1990s, except for the remaining section from Lohr station to Lohr town. Passenger services between Lohr town and Wertheim were discontinued on May 30, 1976, followed by the section from Lohr station to Lohr town on May 22, 1977. Freight services between Lengfurt-Trennfeld and Wertheim were discontinued on May 26, 1979, and between Lohr town and Lengfurt-Trennfeld on September 29, 1991. The line was dismantled there in 1980/81 and 1993. Source: Wikipedia
