Along the lakeshore from Küssnacht to Brunnen is a tour that can be simply wonderful. The view of the lake and the surrounding mountains is magical and you can also achieve a lot of speed here on a racing bike - if you choose the time of the ride reasonably cleverly. Of course, the riverside road is also often used by motorized road users, so it's a good idea to cycle along this dream route, for example early in the morning when most of the day trippers are still asleep.

The small but nice swimming area is located almost at the level of the small Schwanau Island on a small peninsula. In summer, bathers/picnickers or stand-up paddlers (SUP) operate from early to late.

July 16, 2026, Lake Lucerne Lakeside Route: Brunnen to Weggis

Riding this route, not just with a road bike, but also with a city bike or MTB, is fantastic. No matter the season, each season has its beauties. Not the entire route has a cycle path and footpath. Part of the route must be completed on the road. In summer and on weekends, there are many pedestrians, sometimes you have to move onto the road. The road, with many curves, is wide enough to be safely overtaken if motorized users adhere to the regulations. And they do. I often ride along this route and always feel safe. Very beautiful viewpoints literally invite you to stop! In summer, it is also a very popular route for those who want to swim. Many well-maintained swimming spots are available. And also very busy. In Gersau, there is a ferry that takes you to the other side of Lake Lucerne. Have fun!

Just incredibly beautiful. It's best to come down from above because the spectacle becomes more and more spectacular and beautiful. The place shouldn't be too well known...we were there all alone... So if you're near Beckenried or Emmetten... head to the Risleten waterfall 👌👍

A good bathing spot right on LauerzerSee, you can also go there very easily with a stand-up paddle or by canoe
