When completed, the Schuylkill River Trail will total nearly 120 miles from Frackville to Philadelphia. The Thun Section of the trail is a mostly crushed-gravel section in Reading that follows the river the entire time.

Scotts Run Lake is a 22 acre lake in French Creek State Park. It is a beautiful lake surrounded by woodlands. It is a great stop for a relaxing break next to the lake. It is also a popular fishing spot.

The multi-use trail that will eventually connect the Thun Trail section of the Schuylkill River Trail to the towns of Elverson and St. Peters. It is a crushed limestone trail that winds through a meadow. The trail ascends a small hill in the southern part of the trail, but other than this it is not a strenuous trail.
