Like the other lakes and ponds in this area, Berschen's Pond was carved out long ago by a passing glacier. It's best accessed via trails in Sunfish Lake Park.

This is a beautiful segment of the Point Douglas Trail in Battle Creek Regional Park. The trail hugs Battle Creek, crossing from side to side of the creek on bridges. There are many small waterfalls. The stream makes its way down the river bluff to join the Mississippi River below. The trail is named Douglas Point Trail because its trailhead is located on Douglas Point Road.
