Hancock Hill may not be the tallest or most popular summit in the reservation, but its tree-covered peak offers some of the most stunning views of Downtown Boston. Unlike other well-known hills, it is less crowded and provides a fantastic spot to take a breather and hike up one of the shorter side trails to enjoy the beautiful scenery. While it's not directly on the Skyline Trail, it's still worth the visit.

Although Hancock Hill is not the tallest or the most famous summit in the Blue Hills Reservation, it arguably offers some of the best view of Downtown Boston from its treed summit. It has far fewer crowds than other more well-known hills. Although it's not directly on the Skyline Trail, it's readily reachable from it via several side trails as well as a short, but steep, 0.5 hike from Reservation Headquarters.

There is a short trail behind this overlook that leads up to an area for picnics. I'm fairly sure you can barbeque there too (which is rare around Boston)
