A quiet neighborhood to ride in.

This beach is named for nearby Surf Drive (the road), not for its wave action. The waters here are usually pretty calm, and the sand is nice and soft, so it's a great beach for swimming as long as you stay away from the obvious rocks. Beach hours are from 9am to 5pm, and the Shining Sea Bikeway west of here makes a great access route.

Trunk River Beach is a fantastic public beach located right off of the Shining Sea Bike Path. This scenic spot is an excellent place to walk to bike to and is very close to the downtown. Although this beach is on the smaller side, it is an incredibly beautiful place to sunbathe, swim, look for shells, and enjoy a classic Cape Cod vista.

Highfield Hall was one of the first grand summer mansions built on Cape Cod by the Beebe family and designed by Ernest Bowditch in 1878. After decades of neglect, the recently restored Highfield Hall is one of the only examples left of Stick-Style Queen Anne architecture in the Northeast. Outside of this grand estate is a lovely, restored garden with beautiful trees and flowers arranged in geometric patters, which reflect some of the popular landscaping trends in the Victorian Era. The Hall and its gardens are a great place to visit in of themselves, but are also a fantastic way to start your journey exploring the Beebe Woods, which were once a part of the 700 acre property that were owned by the Beebes but are now managed by the town.
