If you ride the entire Around-Mountain Carriage Road loop you'll encircle Sargent Mountain & a number of lower peaks. Though you won't summit of these you will still find plenty of elevation gain. Nothing is too steep though and as is the case throughout Acadia the scenery and architecture is outstanding.

These gravel carriage roads can be found all throughout Acadia National Park. The Aunt Betty Carriage Road is a great uphill ride to get your blood pumping. Enjoy the car free roads and take in the fresh air as you make your way up to Eagle Lake.

Echo Lake has a family-friendly beach with showers, bathrooms, and changing facilities. Since Echo Lake is freshwater the water is warmer than Sand Beach. The water is shallow and perfect for families with small children. More information may be found on the national park site: nps.gov/thingstodo/swim-echo-lake-beach.htm
