Saint John of Nepomuk lived around 1340–1393 and was a priest and canon in the medieval Kingdom of Bohemia (now the Czech Republic). He was martyred and thrown into the Vltava River because he refused to reveal the royal family's confession secret. Later, he was canonized and is known, among other things, as the patron saint of bridges and water, and the protector of the seal of confession. The most famous and important sanctuary dedicated to Saint John of Nepomuk is the pilgrimage church of Saint John of Nepomuk in Zelená Hora (near Žďár nad Sázavou, Czech Republic).

Vicht did not have a church until the 17th century, then one was built between 1672 and 1676. Due to poor structural integrity, another church was rebuilt opposite it. This was completed in the summer of 1912 as the new parish church.

Wide, spatially separated field/cycle path along the road. The asphalt is top-notch, and it's a great ride, even if it's a bit dull along the road.

Good asphalt, rolls smoothly. But sometimes there are also lots of dirt clumps left by tractors on the paths.

Here you can take beautiful photos of the open-cast mine. They will be a great souvenir when the mine is flooded soon.
