The Reiger mining union, like Carthäuserloch, mined the Geitling seam. Its mining field lay in the southern flank of the Hardenstein syncline. Reiger's adit had its portal north of the large crossroads in the Hardenstein valley and led east into the mountain. The associated inclined shafts lay on the height near Berghausen.
