Green Tangerine Pond, part of the Herrick Marsh, is a small, fishable pond and one of a few scenic ponds scattered around Herrick Lake Forest Preserve.

Herrick Lake Forest Preserve spans 887 acres and is a great spot for hiking, walking, and mountain biking. There are great fall colors here, calm bodies of water to enjoy, lush forests, as well as open meadows. It has a great variety to ride through.

At this junction, there is a bench and a good spot to take a break. This area is surrounded by woods full of American elms and smaller maples, oaks, lindens, and hickories. The trails here are nice, wide gravel trails.
