The Voluntary Labor Service (FAD) in the Weimar Republic was introduced by law in 1931 by Chancellor Heinrich Brüning. On July 16, 1932, a decree was issued. "The Voluntary Labor Service is based on the decision of free people who seek work with body and soul." The so-called workers drained moors, planted dunes, dug canals and probably also built this hiking trail along the Untersee.
