The chapel belongs to the Holy Spirit Hospital, founded around 1336, which was located directly outside Angermünde's former city walls and was completely destroyed during the Thirty Years' War. In 1698, the chapel was transferred to the French Reformed congregation of Angermünde, subsequently repaired, and a half-timbered tower was added. This was rebuilt in 1775. Especially in the city center, many old houses and historic sights can still be found. The church (St. Nicholas, not St. Mary's) towers over the market square and bears witness to the city's loooong history. It's a great place to take a break and enjoy the hustle and bustle.

The bike path is next to the road, but at a slightly higher elevation. This means a beautiful view of the water. Great!
