Café Adebar in Bargen is a cozy country café directly on the way to the Eider ferry. It focuses on homemade, freshly prepared food, especially cakes, tortes, and waffles, and seems like a place for a relaxed break on the go. Unfortunately, it is currently permanently closed. However, there are rumors that a reopening is being considered.

In the winter months it is very quiet here. During the summer months you can also get a cool drink and a small snack here on the weekends. A look at the Eider is worthwhile at any time of the year.

A small train connected Pahlen and many other places on the Eider with the town of Heide via a circular route. The railway was built from 1905, but by 1930 many passengers preferred to use the faster buses. The railway line was shut down again in 1937. At the locomotive shed there are some information boards and historical photos.
