The Elmpter Schwalmbruch observation tower, built in 1994 in the municipality of Niederkrüchten, was renovated at the turn of the year 2022/2023. The old observation platform, which had to be demolished in August 2021, was a wooden structure that was exposed to the weather unprotected and whose normal service life had been exceeded. The tower was very popular and had been established in the region for years. From the platform, you have a spacious view over the heath and moorland areas into the Schwalmaue. It is also a beautiful starting point for hiking through the nature experience area with its restored old riverbeds of the Schwalm and species conservation waters.
