A very beautiful view across the lake. With strong winds, there are even waves.

The route itself is very beautiful—right along the river—but it's difficult to ride in places due to the gravel. I slipped quite a bit.

A full-day trip starting and ending in Leipzig Gohlis through the Wachau region, with stops at the Vineta Bistro, Lake Zwenkau, a climb to the Bistumshöhe tower, Lake Cospuden, dinner at the Markkleeberg Canoe Park, and back. A very beautiful tour.

For almost ten years, the Eriken Bridge over the Weiße Elster River has provided a direct pedestrian and bicycle connection between Hartmannsdorf and the Belantis leisure park and the northern shore of Lake Zwenkau, which is currently under development, and has thus become a great asset to the district. During the planning phase at the time, we were strongly committed to a bridge variant that would also have been suitable for a scheduled bus service via Belantis to Lake Zwenkau. This would have significantly shortened the bus service to Belantis, which runs via the A38, and thus made it more attractive. However, the then state government refused to provide funding for a wider variant, so ultimately, "only" a pedestrian and bicycle bridge was built, which could also be used by emergency vehicles in an emergency.
